As announced at the end of last year, I'm pleased to announce that the new WebRaptor's Client Area has been released. Clients can now update their contact information, view invoices, pay them via PayPal, AlertPay or credit/debit cards and make new purchases based on special offers that are available inside the client area alone!

If you're a current client it is likely you've already received access details for your account, and you can login into the system over here. If you're a potential customer looking for awesome products to ease your life, you should keep an eye on our current specials page, because you will be able to order our products and services in a breeze.

Current specials

In the upcoming days (maybe a couple weeks) we will be releasing our newly tracking system. A lot of testing has been done and it is currently being prepared for selling. The tracking system will give you a tool to track clicks and conversions coming from everywhere. You'll be able to track Google Adwords, Yahoo and Bing ads in Adcenter, text link ads, banner ads, blog feeds. Basically you will be able to track anything that has a link attached to it and point towards your site. This application will help you improve your online advertising by directing your budget towards campaigns that actually work and get you new sales. Here are some screenshots of the new conversion ROI improvement tracking system.

First of all, I want to wish to you all a Happy New Year! Clients, blog readers, people that make comments, spammers! Everything is like this because of you! Happy New Year!

Client Area

We are getting more and more clients, expanding throughout Europe, Asia and US. In order to better our support and services, in the beginning of the new year we will be releasing our client area. We don't currently use a client area because everything we had to do up to this point was simple. Things got a little complicated, and to ensure we preserve the high quality of our services, we will be releasing a web application which will be used for project management, collaboration, beyond the scope of what we do via email, phone calls and video chats.

Products

We've release through the blog a jQuery plugin Awesome Slider earlier this year. We haven't stopped there, and when we release our client area we will also be releasing a products section on our website. Awesome Slider will still be free of charge (we don't plan to put a fee on it), but we will also be releasing a tracking system which will give you a tool to track clicks and conversions coming from everywhere. You'll be able to track Google Adword, Yahoo and Bing ads in Adcenter, text link ads, banner ads, blog feeds. Basically you will be able to track anything that has a link attached to it!

Here are some screenshots of the new tracking system.

As you might have seen, the past few months have been a bit low on new articles. This was generated by a number of different factors which I don't want to list right now. Anyways, I am just trying to say that soon the weekly publishing schedule will be resumed. On the other hand, I've recently published a couple freelancing articles on Freelance Folder:

We've hit a really busy, rough couple of weeks at our company. Therefor, the final post of our blogging system tutorial will be published only next week as opposed to this one. However, this week we're going to remind you of our best articles which generated loads of traffic.

Make your own jQuery slider using XML

An awesome tutorial on how to build a custom jQuery slider that stores data in external XML files, which had a great follow up plugin: Awesome Slider

Building a live news blogging system in php. Spiced with HTML5, CSS3 and jQuery

This is a great tutorial series that tackles many technologies and programming methodologies such as HTML5, CSS, PHP, MYSQL, jQuery, AJAX and more!

Impressive web forms. From coding to validation!

Ever wondered how to design, code, and validate beautiful web forms? This article is a must read!

Forms. Can't live with them. Can't live without them.

If the article just above tackled the practical part of web forms, this one tackles theoretical stuff and you should really read it because it contains a lot of tips, tricks, pros and cons on different web form styling patterns and more. Such a great article even Caroline Jarrett, author of the great book "Forms that work: Designing web forms for usability", got her own tips in the comments section.

And there's more

The above articles are not everything we've got. Just check out our other articles, or stay updated to new content via our RSS feed or by email.

It is almost one year since I relaunched this website, and as the 9 months stats show, it has been a good journey. I didn't put any advertising or funding what so ever to promote the blog except writing the content you're familiar with. But I want more, and I think that in order to achieve more from this blog, some proper management is required.

As you've seen, there were times in the past months when there were a lot of articles published just days after the last, and times when there were no articles published for weeks to come. I don't like that, and this is the change I am announcing today. From now on, there will be at least a weekly post, published on Tuesdays. I hope not to stop here and see more posts come published each week. Hopefully there's going to be one on Tuesdays and one on Thursdays or Fridays, but Tuesday's a promise.

Next on Web International Awards

This next Tuesday we are going to talk about buttons, links, and a lot of usability. We'll be studying a couple of websites, devices and applications, and see how we can improve user experience by improving simple buttons.

Upcoming

To take a glance at what's going to be published in the near future, I am going to write a couple of articles about usability. It's a trend huh here at Webia? There's going to be a smashing review of you guessed: the Smashing Book! There's going to be the second part of the awesome forms article and more! Stay tooned.

It has been almost nine months since Web International Awards was launched with the main goal as achieving decent traffic (somewhere around top 500.000 Alexa, as opposed to original 2m+ rank) after no more than one year. Three months before the deadline Web International Awards is in top 400.000 Alexa, meaning that the main goal was achieved sooner than believed.

Of course this journey would have been a lot easier with huge amounts spent on advertising, but then that traffic wouldn't have been created by you guys who come to our website because you like our content. We ditched that advertising infusion and focused on great content. Here's a showcase of our best articles in the last 9 months - be advised that best symbolizes most visited:

2010 Goals

Main goal will be reaching top 100.000 Alexa without any huge advertising expenses, if any. This means that we will have to publish content of even higher quality, more often. We will achieve this by getting some of our readers to write articles for us, which is our secondary goal. Having some of you write for us and getting paid will ensure we will be able to post more high quality articles. However, as of now we don't have the means to pay for articles, but if you'd like to write and get your name in here and some links to your sites, feel free to contact us and pitch your ideas.

Advertising

If you wish to buy banner ads on Web International Awards you can do so by using Buy Sell Ads's marketplace - here's our listing.
